The story of Ripcord Tearaways
Ripcord pants had snaps from hip to ankle, which meant they were designed to be torn off before the big game. Mostly they were torn off for fun, usually in one dramatic move after the bell. The swishing was nonstop, the stripes were bold, and on cold mornings at the bus stop, a gust of wind could pop three snaps at once.

Ripping your tearaways off in one move in front of the class was the highest honor in middle school sports.
