The story of Waist-Tied Flannel
The flannel was a shirt in name only. It spent most of its life tied around your waist with the sleeves knotted twice, swinging like a cape behind you. On cold mornings you might actually wear it, open, over a band tee from a band nobody else had heard of. Dads were confused that their old work shirts were suddenly cool.
A properly tied flannel could survive a whole day of recess, a bike ride home and a growth spurt.
