The story of Stretchy Book Sweaters
Before book sweaters, you covered textbooks with paper grocery bags and a lot of tape. Then came the stretch covers in tie-dye, cheetah spots and smiley faces, and suddenly science class looked like a party. They stretched over any size book, though the giant history textbook made the fabric look like it was holding its breath.
Students put book sweaters on their heads during free period and swore it was a hat.
