Retsy Series 1 · Card 0560 · 90-TEC
Feel the bass in your backpack.
A round CD boombox with a top-loading disc lid, dual cassette decks and a bass boost button that shook sidewalks.
The story · 1993
The Bass Boulder was shaped like a giant river rock and weighed about as much. Its top-loading CD lid popped up with a satisfying click, and the bass boost button made tiny earthquakes on the picnic table. Skaters hauled it to the parking lot and cranked it until the speaker cones rattled in their frames.
Bass boost at full volume could walk the boombox right off a table, so smart owners kept it on the floor.
