The story of Squawkback Walkie Pair
Squawkback radios came in pairs, so they were made for best buddies on the same street. You pressed the big side button, said your secret code name and ended every sentence with over. Sometimes a trucker or a stranger's babysitter cut in on your channel, which made it feel like the whole world was listening.
The call button played a tiny melody, and siblings figured out how to play it through the wall during dinner.
