The story · 1995
The Rattail Adapter was a cassette shell with a cord hanging out like a haircut from the same decade. You slid it into the car's tape deck, plugged the other end into your CD player and suddenly the minivan had your music. It whirred quietly and flipped sides at random, but it felt like a technological miracle.
Hitting a pothole made the CD skip and the cassette flip at the same time, creating an entirely new remix.
Six finishes
Rattail Tape Adapter comes in six finishes: 100 Base, 50 Holo, 25 Laser and 10 Gold copies, plus one Super Laser and one Misprint that exist exactly once. Every copy is minted to the wallet that rips it, with its own serial number.
