The story of Polycrunch 32
The Polycrunch 32 played games from shiny discs, which felt impossibly fancy after cartridges. Its blocky 3D heroes had triangle hands and faces like folded paper, and everyone thought it was the most realistic thing ever made. Loading screens lasted long enough to grab a snack, and memory cards held just enough saves to start a sibling feud.
Opening the disc drawer while a game was loading was forbidden by every parent, which is exactly why every kid did it.
