The story of Whodunit Caller ID
Before Whodunit, every ring was a mystery. After it arrived, teens could tell if it was their crush or their grandma before picking up. The tiny screen stored the last thirty callers, which meant parents could also scroll back and see exactly who had called while they were out. It was the first real gadget for drama.
Prank callers nearly went extinct in neighborhoods with Whodunit boxes, which made sleepovers noticeably less exciting.
