The story of Lanternnet Coaster Disc
Lanternnet discs appeared everywhere: in the mailbox, inside magazines, even taped to pizza boxes. Each one promised hundreds of free hours online, and families signed up, canceled and signed up again with the next disc. Leftovers became coasters, mobiles, wind chimes and shiny scarecrows for the garden. Some kids collected the designs like baseball cards.
Art teachers received so many donated discs that one class built a shimmering disco ball the size of a beach ball.
