The story of Gunky Ball Mouse
Every Gunky Ball Mouse eventually stopped working right. The cursor would jerk, freeze and leap across the screen. The fix was a sacred ritual: twist off the ring, pop out the rubber ball and scrape the gray gunk off the rollers with a fingernail. It was gross, satisfying and somehow the best part of computer class.
Computer lab teachers kept the little rubber balls locked in a drawer after students kept stealing them for recess.
