The story of Battery Gobbler GX
The Battery Gobbler looked incredible: see-through lime plastic, a glowing color screen and a link cable for battling your cousin. The catch was in the name. Eight batteries lasted one car ride, so families bought them in bulk and parents rationed play time by the battery. Kids learned to hunt for outlets at every rest stop.
The optional wall plug cost almost as much as the console, and every kid who owned one guarded it like treasure.
