The story of Spinning Roller Dogs
The roller grill hypnotized everyone who stood in line. Hot dogs turned slowly under the heat lamp, glistening, rolling, maybe since dawn. You grabbed one with the tongs, tucked it into a squishy bun and loaded it at the condiment station until it was more relish than dog. Dad called it gas station gourmet.
Kids swore the dog at the far end had been rolling since last week and nicknamed it the Old Timer.
