The story of Book Fair Eraser Table
For one week the library filled with rolling metal cases that opened like treasure chests. You brought a folded envelope of cash from home and a wish list on lined paper. There were thick paperback series, glossy posters of kittens and race cars, and the legendary table of scented erasers, pencil toppers and pens with six colors in one.
The most wanted eraser of the fair was shaped like a tiny cheeseburger and smelled faintly of grape.
