The story of Got Next Versus Corner
At Pixel Cove arcade, the two-player cabinet in the corner had a crowd three rows deep. The rule was sacred: set your quarter on the glass and you had next. Older kids pulled off secret button codes while everyone gasped, and the reigning champ, a quiet kid named Marcus, once held the machine for an entire Saturday.
Regulars could tell who had next just by the year stamped on the quarter, and nobody ever touched a stranger's coin.
