The story of Concrete Bowl Skatepark
After years of being chased out of parking lots, the skaters finally got the Bowl, a smooth concrete dish behind the rec center. The older crowd ruled the deep end and the little kids practiced ollies on the curb. Everyone wore baggy shorts over long underwear in winter. Drop in for the first time and the whole bench banged their boards.
The Bowl's concrete was poured with a handprint from every kid who signed the petition to build it.
