The story of Bumper Lane Birthdays
Every third grader had a party at Ridgeway Lanes, so you knew the routine: rental shoes, inflatable bumpers, two games, then the party room for pizza and a cake shaped like a bowling pin. The automatic scoring screen played a cartoon of a dancing pin after every strike, and the birthday kid's name appeared in lights.
Ridgeway's dancing pin cartoon had twelve versions, and kids bowled extra frames hoping to see the rare breakdancing one.
