The story of Escalator Loop Cruising
The route never changed: up the escalator by the fountain, past the loud surf store and the candle shop, down by the department store, repeat. You texted the group with three taps per letter even though they were standing right next to you. Everyone carried a single shopping bag from somewhere, mostly as a prop.
Mall security once counted one group riding the same escalator forty-one times in a single evening.
