The story of The Packet Lounge
The Packet Lounge had thirty identical towers in two glowing rows, each with a headset and a sticky keyboard. You bought time on a printed card with a login code, and a little countdown window haunted the corner of your screen. Teens checked their profiles, burned playlists onto CDs, and played team strategy games until the owner flicked the lights at midnight.
The Packet Lounge's best seat, number seventeen, had the only chair whose wheels all worked.
