The story of Manga Aisle Floor Club
By Saturday afternoon the manga aisle at the big bookstore was impossible to walk through. Kids sat shoulder to shoulder on the carpet with backpacks, reading right to left and passing volumes down the row. Some sketched characters in notebooks. Employees stepped over everyone carefully, and one of them started leaving handwritten recommendation cards on the shelf.
Regulars in the manga aisle had assigned spots, and sitting in someone else's spot was a serious social crime.
