The story of Plywood Palace Skatepark
The Plywood Palace filled a former carpet warehouse with halfpipes, quarter pipes and a foam pit where BMX kids practiced flips. You signed a waiver, got a wristband and skated until your legs shook. The pro shop sold stickers, grip tape and wide skate shoes, and the speakers played the same pop-punk CD on repeat all summer.
The foam pit at the Plywood Palace swallowed so many phones that staff fished them out every Sunday night.
