The story of Spinner Rack Comics
Mr. Pruitt kept the new issues on a spinner rack that squealed every time it turned, so he always knew who was browsing. Back issues lived in long white boxes, bagged and boarded. A life-size cardboard Doctor Tumbleweed, the shop's favorite cactus-caped hero, guarded the door. Read too long without buying and Pruitt would clear his throat like a foghorn.
Pruitt's spinner rack squeaked in the key of B flat, according to the band kid who worked Saturdays.
