The story of Wishing Penny Fountain

Every plan in town ended with the words by the fountain. Three copper flying fish leapt over the water, and the bottom shimmered with pennies, bus tokens and one legendary silver dollar nobody could reach. Officer Merle, mall security, pretended not to see kids trying to fish it out with gum on a shoelace.

Fun fact

Mall maintenance cleaned out the fountain every spring and donated the coins to the local animal shelter.
